Health is an important priority for everyone. People find getting sick as costly. As much as individuals want to avoid spending much on medicine, they can not. However, new hope springs as a new source of health fix has evolved in the form of food supplements. These food supplements are selling like crazy because they are generally cheaper than regular medicines plus they are natural and healthy. Unknown to many, this industry is pegged at the billion dollar level. For entrepreneurs like you it is enticing to become a part of this rich industry. The question then is how do you become part of it?
Here are five tasks you need to do to become a food supplement wholesaler and have your own brand.
1. Survey for best sellers.
Look around health stores in your community and conduct a survey. The objective of this survey is for you to know what products are most preferred by customers. Be discrete and courteous when asking information. Learn to ask open-ended questions that elicit more information. If possible talk to store owners about the top three products that they are selling. From these top three products you can ascertain your target product.
2. Establish a Target Product.
From the three products that you have collated, pick one product that you plan to sell. The product does not need to be the most preferred in your survey. However I advise you to pick the top product just to be sure. After determining the target product your next move will be to get pieces on information from the product itself. These may include the name of the manufacturer, the ingredients, and contact information of the manufacturer. You will need these details in order to make contact with the manufacturer.
3. Make Contact.
You will most probably be talking to a large corporation so be patient. Although it is a no-
no for a company to make clients wait, do understand that manufacturers are also engaging in other aspects of the business that their agents are not always accessible. Tell them your purpose and be open-minded. Explain all your plans making sure that they are not in any way losing any money with their partnership with you.
4. Work with the manufacturer.
Once you are approved by the manufacturer your next step is to ask for a label right. This makes certain that the food supplement will carry your name. The manufacturer will be the one making the logo but it is your input that will be the basis. Establish a good working relationship with the maker so that you will make a good impression. Some entrepreneurs are given huge discounts because they have rapport with the maker.
5. Establish a point of contact for clients.
Manufacturers are also drop shippers. This an advantage for you because drop shipping requires less capital investment. You can establish your own website or an outlet just to have a point of contact with potential customers. The point is that the packaging and shipping aspect of your business will be handled by your drop shipper which saves you time and money.
These are just simple steps to start your own wholesale food supplements company but will help you avoid stress and headaches.
