I and many other natural practitioners firmly believe that ITP and cancer are all related to a degree. The all stem from chronic inflammation and a breakdown of the immune system. The body is a complete organism and it takes an all out war on any possible offending culprit or culprits. Besides taking things to increase our health and increase platelets, we also have to remove those things out of our life that may be causing us harm, and then give the body a chance to heal itself. We are a pretty amazing self healing organism given half the chance.
Here is a simple list of 15 steps you can take to help heal your ITPGet rid of as many chemical toxins as I possibly could from my body care products and my home. The toxic burden the human race is carrying is at epic proportions and we were not designed to tolerate all of these chemicals.
Increase your uptake of high quality supplements especially Coenzyme Q10, selenium, zinc, melatonin, vitamin a,d and e. Take a separate Vitamin B3 (Niacinimide) supplement. B3 has anticancer/anti inflammation properties.
I would take a mega daily dose of ascorbic acid - 12 grams if you can tolerate it. Ascorbic acid protects plasma lipids against oxidative damage, destroying free radicals. Ascorbic acid also decreases the toxicity of drugs used in chemo and reduces the effects of radiation.
Eliminate all dairy products from your diet
Eat at least three RAW cloves of garlic a day. (chop it up and put on everything)
Avoid sugar like the plague. That also means any thing with high fructose corn syrup in it. It is actually poison to your system. Use honey sparingly or use stevia.
Eliminate all refined grains from your diet. Eg: processed breads, cereals, white rice etc. Totally eliminate all wheat products either refined or unrefined.
Avoid all food additivesTake a good probiotic supplement
Eat at least 60% of your diet in raw foods. Preferably organic. (In other words eat as close to natural as you possibly can. If it's processed steer clear! Eat simple food combinations. EG: a green salad, with a piece of grilled chicken or lean meat with some brown rice or a steamed vegetable. Keep it simple and easy on your digestion.
Drink a daily fresh juiced green drink of organic carrots, wheat grass and any other green vegetable that you may have. Celery is good but make sure that one is definitely organic as it retains any pesticides with in the membranes (in other words, the pesticides don't wash off). Add some raw cacao to your drink.( It has 30 times the antioxidants of green tea.)
Drink half of your my body weight in ounces of pure water that has no fluoride or chlorine in it. A squeeze of fresh lemon juice in the water will help flush out the toxins and alkalize your system.
Take a very good quality cod liver oil or flax seed supplement in liquid form, not capsules (although there are some brands of fish oil capsules that are good - be sure to do your research though.)
Take a mushroom capsule supplement. Not any mushrooms though. Look for a supplement that contains the following:
- Reishu
- Maitake
- Shiatake
- Cloud (coriolus)
- Agaricus
4 to 8 capsules a day with water. These mushrooms are extremely high in glyconutrients and are one of the true superfoods available. The help balance out the immune system, and have even been known to help heal cancer as well as other autoimmune disorders.
As a side note...the biggest problem about any of these auto immune diseases including itp and cancer is that if you don't really find out what the root cause is, you'll never be able to heal properly. All your good intentions may not be enough if you don't know what it is that is causing the breakdown in your system. It is even possible that your body may just be intolerant to something that is perceived to be good for you. Nothing beats knowing That's why I was so grateful that I found my naturopath who uses dna testing and heavy metal testing so I could get to the bottom of Viv's ITP.

If you feed your dog the best food available, then most likely you won't need to give him any nutritional supplements to produce a healthy, shiny coat. However, this sort of diet can be time-consuming to prepare, not to mention expensive.
If your dog's coat isn't looking as good as it perhaps should, then his diet may be lacking in one or more essential nutrients. Thankfully, there's an excellent range of supplements to help top up your dog's nutrition, resulting in better all-round health and a coat to match:
1. Omega-3 Fatty Acids
These typically come from oily fish and seeds. Getting sufficient omega-3 has been shown to produce a healthy-looking coat. But don't overdo them - these fats should not make up more than about 5% of your dog's intake of fat.
2. Omega-6 Fatty Acids
Similar to omega-3, these are found in meat and vegetable fats. Again, they can enhance the shine of your dog's coat, but be careful not to overdo them. An easy way to add this to your dog's diet is to give him a tablespoon of vegetable oil every day.
3. Egg
A daily portion of egg will help boost the health of your dog's fur. Some people recommend feeding him raw egg, but this carries a slight risk of salmonella, so it's preferable to use cooked egg, as long as your dog doesn't have an allergy to it.
4. Linatone, Missing Link, Mirra-coat etc
These supplements offer an excellent blend of fatty acids, vitamins and minerals. Many dog owners swear by them, and report that they produce a really healthy looking coat, and a happier, healthier dog.
Whichever way you choose to add them to your dog's diet, supplements can help to provide any nutrients and vitamins that would otherwise be missing. This provides a welcome boost to your dog's health, creating a visible difference to his coat.

Give Your Dog a Healthy Coat

Ten years ago most dietary supplements were based on deficiencies that were known to exist in the diets of many people. This meant that vitamin B and C and minerals such iron and calcium, were readily available, but anything else was unheard of.
However, nutritional science has changed all that and now we know that many diets are lacking in several essential nutrients. We have also expanded our knowledge into areas such as phytochemicals found in fruit and vegetables as well as becoming more aware of the important role herbal preparations have to play in our health. In fact, doctors who have been sceptical of the benefits of supplements for a long time are beginning to accept that there is a role for them alongside conventional medicine - and many of them take supplements themselves!
Because of our increasing awareness of complementary medicines, manufacturers have responded and we are faced with an ever-growing range of supplements obtainable everywhere - supermarkets, corner shops, health stores, internet and even market stalls - and at prices that range from as little as £1 up to any price you'd care to think of.
So why pay, say, £8.50 for a bottle of vitamin C from one shop when you can get one for £1 on the market?
The adage "you get what you pay for" applies to this sector of the market more so, probably, than to any other. Companies who have ongoing programs of development, perform clinical trials and have education programs for their staff, distributors and, in many cases, end customers, have to reflect this in the price charged for their product. Additionally, there's the question of quality and strength. For example, to take the vitamin C prices above, you'll probably find the £8.50 bottle will contain 1000mg tablets with additional magnesium, zinc and bioflavinoids and will be timed release (meaning you get a constant supply through-out the day). The cheap £1 bottle will probably contain 100mg tablets with nothing added except bulking agents. Just doing the maths will show you where the real economy is.
As with everything, education is the key - you not only need to know what you want, but why you want it, how much you need to take and in what form it will give the best result for you.
The real lesson to be learnt from this is to always read and understand the label - and I'll show you how in my next article.

You Should Know

With all the advancements that have been made in the modern world, bio-medical research has managed to assist in the quest for weight loss with many drugs that assist is many ways. Many of these drugs and medicines are packaged as supplements and without exception they all claim to offer to assist to lose weight fast and safe and without too much trouble along the way. The most obvious question we must ask ourselves, though, is are they effective?
I'm sure that we have all heard the negative results that some of the users of some of these supplements have had in the past as the press never fail to grab hold of tales of doom and gloom. Consequently, such supplements are often universally viewed as being merely scams with a huge amount of cynicism. However, never lose hope, as for every tale of woe and despair there are an equal if not greater number of fabulous good news stories. Most individuals who try such supplements report profound weight loss and manage to lose weight fast and safe. Therefore we should conclude that there is more evidence to support the use of such supplements than the nay-sayers would have us believe.
To best appreciate what they do, we should endeavour to understand how and why most supplements work. Generally, the majority of diet supplements carry out one or more of the following functions:
• Assist in controlling the appetite.
• Boost the catabolic side of the metabolic process
• Help the processes of the body's digestive system
Hopefully, you will agree that assisting any one or all of these processes would naturally help any individual to lose weight fast and safe. Firstly, controlling the appetite of an individual is paramount to avoid eating more than is necessary, otherwise known as binge eating. The majority of individuals that are obese or overweight have trouble just saying no to the amount of food that they eat, so controlling the appetite for these people would be of primary importance.
Likewise, those that have or are perceived to have a slow metabolic rate are again at risk of gaining weight or being unable to lose weight fast and safe, so something that could increase the catabolic side of their metabolism would help them in their goal. This means that they will be able to utilise any excess energy derived from food and therefore not add to their body fat stores. Finally, helping the processes of the digestive system by easing the passage of food will in addition aid metabolism. Consequently, you will not be sleeping while your body retains undigested food, and risking storing it as body fat.
In summary, any supplements that do any or all three of these functions cannot fail to have the potential to assist anyone to lose weight fast and safe, but do they work as advertised? One cannot wholly substantiate the advertisers' claims, but what we do know is that most supplements do work if you are realistic in your expectations. The bottom line is that supplements can help as part of a diet regime, but they cannot be used solely in isolation. There is, after all no such thing as a miracle cure.

That Is the Question
By Siegfried Garcia
And Knowing is half the Battle.
For almost 7 weeks now, I've been blogging about almost every step I made towards my long journey to fitness. Well for those who have just started reading my blog, I actually created this to shape myself up and of course let all my readers and future ones learn from my experience. I must say, there have been struggles. But I guess these are one of the major challenges we all undergo in attaining this goal.
One of the things I thought to share with you guys (since we're talking about health) are the effects of Food Supplements you are about to use or probably already using. And yes, I've done my research by going through Google and browsing a few sites. Mind you that this article is just for OUR knowledge and it wouldn't really hurt to know. I'm not saying that positively everything I wrote is accurate, but I guess "awareness" is my goal here.
High Protein Intake
This is probably THE most recommended step every person who wants to gain muscle hears at the start of their training. The say it's good for you and will make wonders right? I think I've heard quite a lot already to be honest. But yes, it will definitely help you build your muscles. So what in the world does this phrase mean - High Protein intake? This is associated with the famous Diet Low Carb - High Protein Intake. Carbs short for Carbohydrates, is our source of energy and I believe we already all know that by now. So, what are the effects of High Protein Intake?
Study shows that High Protein Intake may cause an amount of stress put on the kidneys. In other words, they increase the risk of kidney stones.
Another side effect of it is Bone Loss or the increase risk of having Osteoporosis. This is of course for long term use and continuous practice of this Diet.
Amino Acid Intake
We all know that Amino Acids are the building blocks of Protein. Now let's see what are the potential side effects. Too much intake of this could cause restlessness, anxiety and rapid heart beat.
Side Effects of Creatine
Maybe not all weight lifters take this. But for those of you who are and are about to, it really won't hurt to know a few possibilities. Possible side effects of it Creatine are high blood pressure, diarrhea, liver problems, and kidney problems too.
Okay, so that probably covers everything or at least the common Food Supplements weight lifters, athletes and people who go to the gym are taking in. Mind you that these side effects have the condition of either long term use or too much intake. Hence, they're still good for you as long as you take them following a Doctor's prescription. When in doubt, consult your doctor.

It is well-known fact today, that the average life span is on increase almost in all developed countries in the world. For example the life expectancy of our children is now up to 79 years for women and 72 years for men. That means we need to prepare us for active longer lives. The problem is, how to keep fit ourselves in order to enjoy such long life. So from this viewpoint the concept of Quality of Life is getting much more importance.
The term Quality of life is used to evaluate the general well-being of individuals and societies. Scientists, experts on this area, understand the term of Quality of Life on two different levels, even though there is no final consensus over the definition of it. The first level covers a community or a country and includes standard of living - wealth, employment, built environment, physical and mental health and education of citizens, life expectancy, recreation and leisure time and social belonging. The second level includes health-related Quality of Life measures of individuals - perception of Quality of Life of individual's subjective feelings of his own health status: functional ability, psychological well-being, social network, social support and life satisfaction. The importance of those factors increases as we are getting older.
Actually, there is no fun living like an old person. Wrinkled face and skin, low energy, constant fatigue, low libido, sexual dysfunction, age-based diseases, debilitating and mental illnesses, weaker bones, excessive weight and body fat, limited or any motion without other's help, these are several effects of aging. In the detailed aspect the individual's understanding of Quality of Life could be reduced to his ability to function in the ordinary tasks of daily living.
So, if we consider about our life expectancy a lot of years far behind the time we finish our working life, there is necessary to take into account this fact and start to look ahead to healthy longevity in order to keep all aspects of our Quality of Life on the level we wish it should be. The possibility how to reach this target is already here - it is reasonable using of food supplements, vitamins and minerals. These are really strong weapons in our hands in the struggling with ageing processes.
On these days is modern to look about 10 - 15 years younger than is one's actually age. Of course, such looks would be not possible if the body is sick or in bad physical condition. There must be a harmony. Hence to keep the body in healthy condition is basic and this is exactly the way how can food supplements, vitamins and minerals help us to reach this target.
To keep our mind and body young and look much younger than is the real age is important for many reasons. A lot of people get divorced in late age about 50 and even more, it is for certain that to find a new partner is much easier if you look and feel yourself about 10 - 15 years younger than you are and you will have much more to choice from. Another reason could be that due to very dynamic development on the jobs market and with bad influence of economic crisis a lot of older people lose their job and they need to look after new one. But, which employer will hire such applicant, which looks as he is going to die on the working place? Probably no one. On this way is young and healthy looks considerable advantage. Particularly this viewpoint will have even more importance in the next future, because based on expected longevity and higher life expectancy several governments consider to postpone the age limit for the retirement, probably up to 68 for men and maybe for women also. Under such condition to keep ourselves in perfect mental and healthy condition up to such high age to be able to perform all working duties on the comparable level with much younger colleagues must be the rule. On the other hand, what is even more important, it is impact of young and healthy looks and feelings on your private life. This is about to enjoy holidays at the seaside with swimming in the sea, hiking, cycling, dancing, skiing in the winter for fans of it even in the age after seventy. So, I would say, this all is not reachable without reasonable using of food supplements, vitamins and minerals. Abundant information resources are available to guide us through healthy and positive ageing, recently most of them on the internet. This is up to us to get the facts about nutrition, exercise, attitude and social network which support healthy ageing. Taking personal responsibility for our own journey into greater maturity creates new opportunities to take control over our lives. And this is the field, where I would like to contribute with my ideas.

Cinnamon is as spice that is inexpensive, safe, and with proven health benefits, it is well known to be one of the world's oldest spices. It has a flavorful warm aroma that makes it a inviting ingredient to add to food. In times past, cinnamon was seen as an expensive luxury that was used as an aphrodisiac, and as it was more expensive to buy than silver, it has even been used as a currency.
Cinnamon's amazing taste and aroma have made it very popular for cooking. Warm breads, cookies, pies and cakes are flavored with one of the oldest known spices-cinnamon. Not only does this favorite spice add mouthwatering taste, cinnamon also adds a healthy punch to foods. Cinnamon has been used by many physicians to treat colds, sore throats and coughing.
The practice of burning Cinnamon in one's household has been thought to cleanse the air and the people within. The ancient Roman Emperor Nero took this very literally, and after he had his wife killed, he ordered a year's supply of cinnamon to be burnt to cleanse him of the crime. While it is this author's opinion that only the application by faith of the blood of Jesus can cleanse the soul of man from sin, modern research has found that this most ancient of spices is generally very good for the health of your body.
Cinnamon is a anti-microbial and can stop the growth of bacteria, fungi and yeast. It is active against the fungus that causes Candida Albicans, the bacteria responsible for stomach ulcers. A study in the International Journal of Food Microbiology found that a few drops of cinnamon essential oil added to carrot broth were able to preserve it and fight pathogens.
Cinnamon's beneficial effects are far-reaching. One study shows that just smelling cinnamon or chewing cinnamon-flavored gum enhances brain processing and function, from memory to visual-motor speed, to recognition, to attention and focus. Cinnamon has anti-clotting and anti-inflammatory properties, which reduce clumping of blood platelets. Of all the spices cinnamon is one of the richest of antioxidants. Other research shows cinnamon can help regulate blood sugar levels and relieve arthritis pain.
In a study published in the medical journal Diabetes Care, people with Type 2 diabetes took cinnamon every day in varying amounts ranging from one-fourth teaspoon to 1 teaspoon. After 40 days, all the subjects had reduced their fasting blood glucose by 18 to 29 percent; triglycerides by 23 to 30 percent; LDL cholesterol by 7 to 27 percent; and total cholesterol by 12 to 26 percent. In addition, cinnamon is an excellent source of manganese, fiber, iron, calcium and other minerals. This is very amazing for such a fantastic tasting spice, isn't it?
As with any food or spice, the fresher the cinnamon the better. So your five-year old container of cinnamon may not hold the same potency. Buy fresh, organic if possible, cinnamon sticks or the freshest ground cinnamon available. If you have ever looked at cinnamon available in bulk you have probably noticed that one kind is a dark brown while the other is a tan color. The two kinds of cinnamon are from different plants. Cinnamomum Cassia, used in curry powder and in Chinese and Korean dishes is dark brown. The other variety is Cinnamomum Zeylanicum, and is light brown or tan in color.
The kind of cinnamon that has been tested in clinic trials is Cinnamomum Cassia, which is the dark brown. Chinese, Aruyvedic, and Unani medicine have used the darker form of cinnamon as a remedy for diabetes and digestive complaints for centuries. In keeping with these ancient Chinese medicines see to it that your food supplement product is comprised of a wide variation of proven beneficial nutrients which will include cinnamon.
Hello, my name is Greg DeHart. There is a near endless debate going on about the benefits of food supplements and whether we really need them or not. Even today there is no clear cut answer as to whether they are a necessity to our dietary needs or simply a beneficial add on to make our nutrition improve and thus have a positive impact on our health. A few decades ago the general view was that we should all be able to get the vital nutrients in our daily diets through simply choosing healthy foods and eating balanced diet. Nowadays it seems that it is not as simple as all that.
Pollution and Farming
Due to an increase in pollutants used in the farming industry and with more cars and industrial waste being released into the atmosphere, our food has become tainted and somewhat altered. We don't get the same amount of vitamins and minerals from our everyday diets nowadays due to the impact of these occurrences. It is now generally advised for people to at least take a generally multivitamin tablet regularly, if not then to have a higher dosage of some particular vitamin in specific cases. Even though food supplements are commonly naturally occurring substances, it is always best to check with a medical professional before you start.
Evolution
Over the years the human body has evolved and we require different maintenance than we did a few centuries or even decades ago. We have had to adapt to environmental changes and new toxins, chemicals and harmful substances being introduced into the atmosphere. As well as our food, the air and water are also affected. All of these factors have contributed to attack our immune systems and prevent them from up taking the right amount of nutrients to keep us healthy. In these cases we turn to food supplements to pick up the slack and keep our diets complete and comprehensive so that we remain healthy and fit in our daily lives. By adding an extra dose of certain minerals and vitamins to our already balanced diets we can ensure that our bodies are protected against harmful substances that we will regularly have to face.
Nutritional depletion seems to be increasing in our diets these days, food_supplements are indeed necessary to make up for the lack nutrients that were once in abundance in our diets. Vitamins, minerals and other essential compounds are what keep us healthy both in body and in mind.

Taking in vitamins is very essential during pregnancy. This is because the food that you eat may not be enough for your baby's development. Along with the popularity of herbal medicines and supplements, many pregnant women prefer to take herbs as they may have been used to taking them even before they got pregnant.
Others take herbs not only as food supplement but also as medication to the difficulties that they may be experiencing. However, you should bear in mind that some herbs and food additives can be dangerous to you and your baby. Some of these are as follows:
1. Quinine - This is usually an additive to tonic water, which makes its taste slightly bitter. There had been a case where a woman gave birth to a baby who suffered from withdrawal symptoms.
The mother had been drinking more than one liter of tonic water per day when she was pregnant. The baby had nervous tremors when he was born but disappeared after two months. Experts recommend that drinks containing quinine should be avoided by pregnant women.
2. Ginseng - Researchers conducted a study on the effect of ginseng to the development of fetus in rats. Results of the study showed that the development of the rat embryo was greatly affected by the intake of ginseng. The higher the dose, the greater the abnormalities were found out.
Although the study was applied on rats, the effects can be similar to humans. The study only focused on the effects of one of the many active constituents of ginseng, which is the Rb1, a ginsenoside. Ginseng has more than 20 ginsenoside and results of studies conducted showed different effects on the fetus.
The fact that the individual constituents of ginseng have bad effects on the fetus means that this should be taken as a precaution for pregnant women. The researchers of the study suggest that ginseng extract should be avoided throughout the entire pregnancy.
The study, however, does not guarantee the overall effect of the whole herbal product as it only focused on the effect for each constituent. It may have different effects when these constituents are put together. Hence, ginseng extract should not be branded as dangerous, unless further studies on the effect of the whole product show dangerous results.
3. Ginkgo Biloba - One of the constituents of this supplement called colchicines, which is an alkaloid was found in the placenta of women who had been drinking this supplement. Research shows that colchicine is harmful to a growing fetus.
This constituent can build up in the womb if ginkgo biloba is being taken regularly while pregnant. However, the study only focused on the effect of colchicine and no studies have been conducted that show complications in pregnancy as related to intake of the ginkgo supplement.

In fact, these types of protein supplements may be just what you need to correctly augment your diet.
It is very possible to stay healthy with a vegan or vegetarian diet. In fact, recent reports have shown on a continuous basis that those who live a vegetarian or vegan lifestyle actually live longer with fewer health problems. This is due to the fact that meats and dairy products can contain a high amount of fatty acids and cholesterol which can lead to premature heart attacks, strokes, and all of the additional negative health side effects that come coupled with obesity. In fact, it is very rare to see an overweight vegan or vegetarian due to the healthy lifestyle and eating habits of one.
Despite the health benefits of both of these vegetable rich diets, there is still a need to buy superfood items because some nutritional elements are harder to get when eating a limited diet. For instance, it is oftentimes harder to get all of the essential amino acids that the body needs to function correctly. Most vegans find that protein is actually the hardest nutritional element to keep up with which is why products such as vegan protein powder supplements are available on the market to aide with the problem.
By taking a supplement product you can continue to maintain your diet while making sure that your body still receives all of the nutrition that it needs to function properly and at its peak. In fact, once you start taking vegan protein powder or other natural whole food supplements you will likely feel as if you have more energy because your body will start to work at its full potential. Your mind will also feel sharper because when you have the proper nutritional intake and balance in your diet the brain receives the correct chemicals and you are able to function at a much better level. Oftentimes people report that they are able to concentrate better and find that their memory improves.
There are many natural products available on the market, but you want to make sure that natural products are truly natural which is why when you buy superfood you do your research and pick from a corporation that has the same principles as you do in mind.
The web can be an excellent place to find additional information on products such as vegan protein powder as well as excellent places to buy superfoods since you get an in-depth look at companies and consumer reviews from people just like you before purchasing.

Drugs are something that people keep running to every time things are not looking fine. You should tread that path carefully because most drugs that are hailed to give instant relief from any discomfort mostly deal with the symptoms but they leave the disease active in the body. In the long run, you will be boxing with your hands tied behind your back.
The western medicine works by clouding the body's interpretation of symptoms and discomfort, cheating it that all is well. It is all a temporary measure.
Over reliance on these drugs makes your body susceptible to weakening of its natural defenses. You loose that hardcore ability to deal with the disorder by your own natural ability. As the days go by, you will be more exposed to attacks of pain.
Pharmaceutical companies would rather worry about how to balance their books rather than go into details about how they are feeding you with harmful stuff and smiling.
People world over are stuck in the false idea that you can cure diseases with medicine. This will therefore continue pumping money into the accounts of pharmaceutical companies who take advantage of the hype and misconceptions about drugs.
A body should be able to heal itself of certain ailments. Our consistent bad lifestyles keep burdening the body with pressure. The more you rely on drugs the more you weaken the body's natural way of doing it. You will need to start living a healthy life once again and start boosting your natural defenses.
The secret to achieving this is to have a set of foods that you can always choose from and these should be colorful fruits and a selection of vegetables. They should be preferably organically grown. Therefore, you should make it a point to start feeding healthy and start stepping outside your home more often to do some outdoor exercises.
Good food supplements help the body much. You should not shun taking natural food supplements even if it seems that you are already having a healthy diet. Food supplements are still food. You are not overburdening your body with unnecessary chemicals that may cause harm to you.

A massive volume of scientific research suggests that increasing dietary intake of specific nutrients may be helpful in protecting against diseases such as cancer and heart disease. Achieving the nutrition goals recommended by many health authorities through diet alone may be difficult for an average person.
While it is best to get all nutrition from diet, many people cannot take enough quantities to supply the required level for optimal health. There is a gap between what you eat and the amount of nutrients science shows you need for optimal protection. For example, to get 30IU of vitamin E, you will have to eat 124 slices of whole-wheat bread, 340g of peanut butter or 8 dozen eggs! You see what we mean?
There are whole-food supplement that delivers highly concentrated families of protective nutrients. Whole food supplements can help an average person move to optimal health through optimal nutrition. Vitamin C is proven to be a powerful antioxidant and plays a role in maintaining healthy gums, skin, connective tissue and improved iron absorption.
Vitamins of the B complex group are important co-factors in the metabolism of the food we eat, help maintain healthy nerve function, are involved in the manufacture of red blood cells and contribute to healthy skin and hair.
Vitamin A is well known for the maintenance of good vision and healthy skin, hair and nails.
Vitamin D helps the body utilize calcium necessary for the normal development and maintenance of strong bones and teeth.
Vitamin E functions as a tissue antioxidant helping to maintain healthy cells, and also protects unsaturated fatty acids and Vitamin A against oxidation.
For robust health, essential minerals must be part of the diet. A broad spectrum of macro, micro and trace minerals are needed for optimal functions of the body. Here are some of them:
Iron is a mineral present in every living cell and therefore essential for well being. Iron helps maintain healthy red blood cells which play a role in oxygen transportation.
Zinc performs a myriad of essential functions within our bodies and is involved in the absorption and every activity of vitamins.
Calcium helps maintain healthy bones and teeth. Magnesium helps in the utilization of proteins and maintains healthy nervous system metabolism.
When our diet is deficient in any of these and many more vitamins and minerals, absorption and utilization of even those present in our diet is hampered and inefficient. Hence, our cells are starved of these nutrients. Supplementing our diet moderately compensates for the shortfall in our ordinary diet. Hence, many diseases are prevented or overcome by our immune system. Furthermore, most dietary supplements contain nearly every daily nutrient required for vigorous health in a 1-ounce dose. A one-of-a-kind, all-natural liquid supplement designed to promote robust health.

Food supplements are required by all even though everybody has a different body and constitution. Even the people who plan a healthy diet cannot get enough nutrients. They too need to take food supplements.
Malnutrition mainly happens because of not having enough time or knowledge regarding nutrition. And, the people who know what to eat in what amounts lack in time to follow the diet. They cannot spare time in the day to have different kind of fruits and vegetables. This is where food supplements come in. A multi supplement vitamin helps in maintaining a balanced diet.
Nutrients and vitamins help the body to function properly. Health problems arise when the nutrients are in low levels in the body. For instance, Vitamin B12 decreases the risk of pernicious anemia; folic acid helps in the formation of cells and prevents the risk of occurrence of cardiovascular disease by removing excess homocysteine from the body.
Food supplements are recommended to people who are consistently suffering from fatigue and stress, not eating a balanced diet, staying in a metropolitan city, skipping meals, being exposed to poor quality air, smokers, consuming too much alcohol, suffering from frequent bouts of flu and cold, staying in a place with secondhand cigarette smoke, doing vigorous work outs, and having drinking too much caffeine.
People need vitamins and minerals to keep the body working without any disorders. If they do not take enough of them, they will suffer with disorders like as fatigue, loss of appetite, difficulty concentrating, irritability, having disturbed sleep, losing hair, palpitations, arrhythmias, skin disorders, and problems related to teeth and gums. If you have any of these symptoms, you should consult a doctor and ask them to recommend a food supplement provided you do not have a health condition that causes these symptoms. You will find many of the symptoms disappearing a few days of starting the supplements. Also, you will energized and robust.

Today, there are a very large number of food supplements on the market. These products can help us to be healthier by giving our bodies the added nutrients they need. It is especially important for people with autism to have a proper diet, because they are more likely to have problems with nutrition than most of us. It can be very helpful for them to take supplements to help balance their nutritional state.
Two proteins that have been found to potentially worsen the symptoms of autism are gluten and casein. In many autistic children gluten and casein, seem to cause the production of natural opiates in the brain. This can make foods that contain these proteins practically addictive! For this reason, the first step toward treating autism with food supplementation is to adopt a diet free of gluten and casein.
Of course, having a healthy balanced diet is very important. Because autistic children are usually very affected by routines, a healthy diet should be instituted and followed as early as possible. When this is done, autistic children will usually continue to adhere to a healthy diet.
It is also important to determine if your autistic child is absorbing the proper amount of nutrients. A doctor can determine this with Simple blood tests that measure nutrient levels. This data can then be used to adjust a diet if it turns out there are any shortfalls. Medical professionals who have been trained to understand the challenges that autistic children face are a good place to start.
A list of nutrients that autistic children often do not have at optimum levels or may simply be lacking includes: calcium, selenium, zinc, magnesium, folic acids, essential fatty acid, vitamins C and E, taurine, cod liver oil, and various amino acids.
It is important to move slowly when beginning a regimen of supplements. It is also very important to document any changes in behavior. Be very attentive to the effects of the supplements seem to have on your child. Be sure to note any changes and be prepared to discuss them with your doctor or nutritionist.
Both positive and negative effects can result from the changes in diet and use of supplements. Positive effects can sometimes be seen in reduced severity of behaviors. Often, autistic children show improvement in their ability to manage their behaviors and interact socially. Undesirable changes in behavior may also be noted, however. If negative behavior changes are observed, the supplement that was added should be reduced or eliminated. Determining the best diet and what supplements to use for an autistic child is mostly done by trial and error. For that reason, you should start with small packages when purchasing supplements. In the long run you can save you money by buying in bulk quantities. If you were to buy a large quantity of a supplement and then find that it produces undesirable results, you would be stuck with a product that is useless to you.
If you decide to add supplements to your child's diet, it is important to do so in a controlled manner. You should not just dole out supplements on a random basis. Instead, work with your doctor or nutritionist to develop a specific plan that is designed for your child's success. The plan should include stool analysis, frequent tests for metal toxicity, and tests for various amino acids and peptides.
There is a great deal to consider when choosing supplements for your child. This is a very important process that can greatly improve the quality of your child's life. You should take your time with the process and be sure to cover all the bases as you go. Be sure to give supplements time to work. It often takes time for the body to accurately process nutrients and for you to see any changes in behavior.

Food Supplements

There are many people who are still to this day questioning whether they really need to take food supplements in our daily diets. People tend to believe that with all the progress and research into our health being carried out that we should be able to reach the required doses of all vitamins and minerals by simply eating and healthy and balanced diet. This kind of rhetoric mainly comes drug and conventional medicine avenue.
Balanced Diet
As the world is at the moment, it doesn't really matter where you live or what kind of income you have, you will find it almost impossible to attain the required levels of all vitamins and minerals from simply eating a healthy diet. With all the changes in the way the world farms and the food industry as a whole, it is now a necessity to gain the needed amounts of nutrients from adding food supplements to an already balanced diet.
What do we Need?
To make sure that our bodies are working at their optimal level and that we are providing them with all the right ingredients, we must make sure that we are taking the correct amount of vitamins, minerals and nutrients through good food and food supplements. Vitamins are essential nutrients for our bodies to function correctly and protect us from health complications and disease. If we are deficient in vitamin levels then we become more prone to illness and health problems that we should usually be able to fend off. Prolonged poor nutrition will lead to irreversible effects on our bodies.
Who Needs them Most?
Even though we should all be taking food supplements of some description or another, there are certain people who may need to be more aware of the risks to their overall health if they don't maintain a balanced diet. People who are busy and stressed, as well as people who live in built up areas where they may be more pollution are at a higher risk than people who live calmer lived in the country. Smokers, heavy drinkers and people who do not exercise are also more at risk than those who are active and healthy. It is always important to remember that you should visit your local GP or consult a health professional before starting to take a series of vitamin supplements. They will be able to guide you on the right types and amounts that you may specifically require.

There are numerous different health problems that can be alleviated by having a balanced diet and maintaining the right levels of nutrition. When our diets are deficient in any of the necessary vitamins and minerals then we find that our health and quality of life will be affected in an adverse way. Deficiency will cause problems in absorption and utilization rates at which our body is able to deal with the food we take in on a regular basis. By adding a selection of food supplements to our routines we can improve the health and fitness of our bodies so that we are better able to fend off illness and disease. The most common advantages of adding supplements to our diets are:
Increased Energy
Most people find that once their health is restored and they are acquiring the correct amount of the daily required vitamins and minerals then they see an increase in their energy levels. They have a higher feeling of well being and are more interested in doing activities and find themselves less exhausted and lethargic during busy stressful days. By providing your bodily systems with all the correct ingredients you will find that you begin to function better and live a more full and vital life in a short amount of time.
Happiness
People find that within a short time of taking food supplements their mood and general thoughts are happier and more positive. This may not be the case for everyone, but many people who begin to intake the required amounts of minerals and nutrients will find that their general health and well being improve which then causes their mood to lighten and their temperament become more calm, relaxed and happy. The serotonin levels in the brain and the balance of certain mood affecting hormones all contribute to our mood and these are all influenced by the fluctuating levels of vitamins and minerals in the body. By balancing our dietary intake we can balance our minds.
While these are only two examples of the advantages that can be gained from taking food supplements, they may be the most important. Energy, well being and mood are all key factors in our general health and happiness. There is also the nervous system, eyes, hair, nails and our sexual health that benefit from the use of nutritional aids. But it is also about the quality of life, living unhindered by ill-health.
Feeling optimal both in mind and body can be attributed to taking food supplements of varying kinds. With the way food production and quality is today, we need our supplements for sure.

Food Supplements
By Dr. Yannick Pauli
The refining and processing done on most foods today results in food items that are almost completely devoid of all the nutrients and vitamins they are supposed to contain. By the time a food product makes its way to a supermarket shelf, it contains only a small fraction of its nutritional benefits. Although fresh foods and organic produce are still easily available, our fast-paced lifestyles make it difficult for us to spare time to create meals from scratch using all-natural ingredients. The instant, pre-cooked varieties available in supermarkets may be a godsend, but they also contain lots of chemical additives that outweigh their nutritional benefits. Even worse than microwave dinners are fast food meals from places like McDonald's, which contain more sodium and oil than any vitamins or nutrients.
Knowing all this, it's hardly surprising that children today experience nutrient deficiencies that lead to neurological problems like ADHD. Fortunately, many ADHD experts and nutritionists now recognize the link between proper nutrition and a holistic treatment for the disorder. Although there are many different diets recommended for ADHD children, they all share the same basic principles: remove all harmful foods that cause food intolerances and unwanted reactions, cleanse the body of digestive by-products or toxins, and correct whatever nutrient deficiencies may be there. The latter part usually involves replenishing the lost nutrients with the following food supplements.
Omega-3 fish oil supplements
You'd be hard-pressed to find a child who prefers green leafy vegetables and deep-sea fish to French fries and a burger. That's quite a shame, because the latter contain hardly any nutritional value, whereas the former are rich in omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3 fatty acids are the building blocks of the brain structure and assist the nervous system with higher intellectual functions like memory and reasoning. Studies show that most children with ADHD also have deficiency in omega-3 fatty acids, and many researchers have been successful in treating the disorder with omega-3 fish oil supplements. Look for fish oil supplements with a high EPA-to-DHA ratio, as these are known to be the most effective among children with ADHD.
Magnesium and calcium
Magnesium and calcium are needed by literally hundreds of chemical processes in the nervous system and body. For example, calcium stimulates the production of neurotransmitters, and magnesium stabilizes energy levels. A deficiency in these two nutrients is also common among children with ADHD. There are many studies that show how magnesium and calcium supplements lead to improved concentration and overall behavior.
Iron
An iron deficiency is the most common nutrient deficiency around the world, and can account for a number of chronic health problems. Besides promoting the production of the neurotransmitter dopamine and regulating its release, iron also has the ability to neutralize any lead found in the body. Among the numerous harmful effects of lead is its capacity to inhibit the production of dopamine and interfere with the work of dopamine receptors. Iron counteracts this by providing a clear passageway for nutrients to the brain and guiding the transmissions among brain signals. Make sure a nutritionist tests for an iron deficiency in your child before giving any iron supplements; in high doses, iron can actually be toxic to the body.
